We need only be concerned with live adult bugs for the house cleanup.
After using Lice Lifters Lice Solution Treatment there will be no remaining live bugs so the house cleaning needs to be done ONE TIME ONLY.
While doing a cleanup is an important step, treating the head is most important.
Your house is not the source of a re-infestation. However, you should complete the checklist below so the treatment can be most successful.
The following items go in the dryer for 30 minutes on high heat:
Special stuffed animals, blankets, or “lovies” that can go in the dryer
Bed linens, comforters, blankets, towels
Any clothes in the laundry and on the floor that have been worn in the last three days before treatment
Coats, hats, hoody sweatshirts, sweaters (anything that has been worn in the last 3 days)
Things to Vacuum
Cloth sofas and chairs
Cloth car seats
Any large pillows that can’t go in the dryer
Carpets where children lay around the TV, bedroom, and playroom
Only clean areas that have had direct head contact.
Anything that cannot withstand the hot dryer cycle or be vacuumed needs to be stored away for 2-3 days.
An adult louse cannot survive very long off of a human host.. Lice have legs with claws on the ends so they can cling to fabric but cannot get around well on leather, plastic, wood or other flat surfaces.
FYI-Special house cleaning products and laundry additives are completely unnecessary! Using the heat of the dryer and vacuuming is all you need to do. Services that sell cleaning products for head lice are taking advantage of their customers.
Helmets & Hats
Any bicycle helmets or batting helmets that have been used within 2-3 days prior to treatment need to be treated. Just put the helmet(s) in the freezer. Baseball hats or winter hats can go in the dryer for 30 minutes on high
heat. If the hat or helmet has not been used then they are fine.
Brushes & Hair Accessories
You will need to clean all brushes and combs etc on the day of the first treatment.
Our recommendation is to boil water, remove from the heat, submerge the brushes and combs and let soak until the water cools. The water needs to be 130˚
Don’t forget hair ties, barettes, headbands, etc.
